 IMT - Property purchase tax |
IMT (property purchase tax)
which was formally known as the SISA is now payable on a sliding scale of 2% - 8%on all properties valued at more than €87,500.
5% for rural land and 6.5% for other urban buildings i.e.(commercial properties).
Note that there is a difference between the IMT payable on property for permanent occupation and that for non permanent.
Note also that the top level of IMT for non residents is reduced to properties with a value of €543,900 or over.
The IMI payable by a “blacklisted” company held property will be reduced from 5% to 1% of the tax value of the property
